Nutrition and Care of Falabella Horses
At El Pantano, we take great pride in the nurturing and care of our Falabella horses. Our love and respect for the horses goes beyond that of just breeding them. We take the time to ensure that our horses receive the nutrition and proper love they need and deserve.
Nutrition
Our Falabella horses are given a special diet to ensure they receive the proper nutrition. We feed them only rough hay harvested here from our very own pastures. Our hay is rarely fertilized to eliminate chemicals. In addition to the hay, we provide them with vitamins and minerals through grain mixture or compound feed. This ensures a healthy, balanced diet.
Care
Not only do we here at El Pantano feed our horses well, but we provide excellent care for their hooves and bodies. The hooves are scraped regularly and trimmed six times a year. We brush them daily with help from our children. A well-known, trusted veterinarian ensures they receive vaccinations on time, and that they remain healthy and happy.
Training
To train our horses, we often put them in front of a cart. This teaches them to remain calm in any situation. They are put outside in the meadow or paddock on a daily basis and returned to the stables at night. This allows them to become better acquainted with people and allows for a great companion for you. We have a small meadow for playing. There is also a larger stable on our farm set aside especially for mares in order for them to deliver their foals in a peaceful setting without any problems.
Conclusion
Because our family resides on the farm, their is always a playmate for the Falabella horses. Our children love and care for the horses. There are also dogs, cats and chickens for them to play with. With much space for the horses to run in and so much companionship, they will become perfect companions for you and your family. At El Pantano, we strive to always provide a safe, happy and loving environment for our horses.
